KASSELKINO

STADTMUSEUM KASSEL

The interior of the ‘KasselKino’ was designed in the course of the restructuring and extension of the exhibition architecture of the Kassel City Museum. The cinema, located on the first floor of the museum, is integrated in the permanent exhibition and is used as an additional place for events.

The films that are shown here are all Kassel-related, either through content or production.

In order to structure the high, narrow room, roomy benches and ceiling-to-floor curtains were installed.

The distinctive backrests of the benches vary in their heights and establish a formal reference to stepped seating rows of conventional cinema halls.
