For the conversion of the therapy pool building of the Diakonie Himmelsthür, a facility for mentally and physically handicapped, the idea of the concept was to create a setting that suggests possibilities and gives ambience to the space, without disabling the occupants from developing and utilising the area in their sense and for their needs.
The space is divided by the central located ball pond in a public area for visitors and a play and activity area. The ‘tree’-framework at the activity area structures the space and offers plenty of options to place swings and other equipment for playing or for therapy.
After the detailed planing and design of suggested solutions they were realised by local companies.
